Our Story

A place to unhurry

Komorebi Niseko is two houses, one forest, and a shared belief that the best kind of travel feels like you've come home to a place you've never been before.

Tucked into the forests of Soga — a quiet corner of Niseko not yet caught in the rush — our two retreats are built for those who came to ski hard and sleep deeply, or simply to sit with the sound of snow falling through trees.

We are owner-operated and warmly encourage direct bookings. When you book directly with us, every part of your stay is a conversation — no platforms, no algorithms, just us.

Positioned at the edge of the treeline where sky and forest meet, Forest Hideaway is the brighter, more open of our two houses. A warm and welcoming retreat for couples or small groups — simple, considered, and quietly beautiful.

Soga Den

Deep in the forest, beautifully finished

Larger, more deeply set among the birches, and finished to a higher specification — Soga Den is for those who want the full depth of a Niseko winter. A gas fireplace that warms the room to its bones, tatami mats underfoot, and a traditional Japanese ofuro downstairs for long soaks after a day on the mountain.

Accommodation tax: 3% of reservation value

The 3% Niseko accommodation tax applies from 1 November 2026. It is shared between Niseko municipality and Hokkaido Province to fund infrastructure and services for guests. All charges will be itemised clearly in your reservation confirmation.
